The decision to convert to Judaism should never be made lightly.

 

In fact, there is a tradition that a rabbi should turn-away a prospective convert three times 

to both test their level of personal commitment and to insure that they seek to undergo

the process of religious conversion for the right reasons.

 

Leaving the faith (or lack thereof) of one's upbringing and adopting a new religious identity

should be treated with the utmost sensitivity and respect.

Rather than a rejection of a family's beliefs - conversion to any faith should emerge from a positive sense of personal discovery, fulfillment and connection. It should feel right.

 

I welcome and encourage all those whose spiritual path has led them to Judaism.
